How to Add Magento Instagram Login to Your Website

In this article, you will learn how to find your Instagram API and integrate Instagram Login into Magento Social Login Pro plugin. Please follow the step-by-step instructions below.

How to Set Up Instagram API for Magento

Step 1: Create a Facebook App

  1. Go to developers.facebook.com, and click My Apps

  1. Press the Create App button.

  1. Specify the App Name.
  2. Insert your Contact Email.
  3. Press the Next button.

  1. Indicate your Redirect URL for this application. This URL can be found in the OAuth Redirect URI field in your Admin Panel -> Plumrocket -> Social Login Pro -> Configurations -> Instagram.

  1. Navigate to the Business login settings.

  1. Indicate your Callback URL for this application. This is a URL endpoint where Instagram sends notifications when a user revokes access or permissions granted to your store via their Instagram account, essentially removing the app’s ability to access their Instagram data. You can find the Callback URL in the Magento Admin Panel -> Plumrocket -> Social Login Pro -> Configurations -> Instagram– Deauthorize Callback URL field.
  2. Insert your Data deletion request URL. This URL can be found in the Data Deletion Request URL field in your Admin Panel -> Plumrocket -> Social Login Pro -> Configurations -> Instagram.
  3. Press the Save button.

  1. Proceed with your App Review.

Step 3. Release to Production

After all development and testing, you should switch your app to Live Mode and set up permissions to be able to offer Instagram login to your Magento 2 site users.

  1. Go to App Review -> Requests.
  2. Switch the App Mode toggle to Live.
  3. Click Request Permissions or Features.

Configuring Instagram Integration in Magento 2 Social Login Pro Extension

In this step, you have to provide your Instagram API credentials for Instagram integration in the Magento 2 Social Login Pro extension configurations.

In your Magento 2 admin panel, go to Plumrocket -> Social Login Pro -> Configuration -> Integrations -> Instagram.

Step-by-Step guide:

  1. Make sure the Instagram integration is enabled.
  2. Provide your Instagram App Client ID (to find it, go to Instagram Basic Display -> Basic Display -> Instagram App ID).
  3. Provide your Instagram App Client Secret key (to find it, go to Instagram Basic Display -> Basic Display -> Instagram App Secret).
  4. “OAuth Redirect URI“: you will need this URL to configure your Instagram application.
  5. “Deauthorize Callback URL“: you will need this URL to configure your Instagram application.
  6. “Data Deletion Request URL“: you will need this URL to configure your Instagram application.
  7. Click Save Config.

Configuration of the Instagram API for the Magento 2 Instagram Login is now completed.

Configuring Instagram Integration in Magento Social Login Pro Extension

In this step, you must update your Magento Social Login Pro Extension configuration. In your Magento admin panel, go to “System” -> “Configuration” -> “Plumrocket Inc” -> “Social Login Pro” -> “Instagram” Tab.

Step-by-Step action:

  1. Paste Client ID into the relevant field of “Instagram” tab in your backend.
  2. Paste Client Secret key into the relevant field of “Instagram” tab in your backend.
  3. Click Save Config.
