In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to properly configure the Magento 2 Admin Email Notifications extension. Please follow this guide after installing the plugin.
In the main Magento menu, go to the Plumrocket tab > select Admin Email Notifications > Configuration.
General
Step-by-step guide:
- “Enable“: set the option to Yes to enable the Rich Snippets extension on your Magento 2 store.
- “Serial Key“: enter the unique serial key provided to you after purchasing the extension. Please note: in most cases, this field will be pre-filled with a serial key automatically, and the green checkmark will be displayed. To find and paste your serial key manually, read the Serial Key Activation article.
- “Remove Logs After (days)“: set the number of days after which all collected errors will be automatically removed from the database and the Event Log grid. Set it to “0” if you don’t want to enable automatic log removal.
- “Log Collection & Email Notification Frequency“: select how often you want the system to check log files and collect them into the Event Log grid – options include Every 30 minutes, Every Hour, or Once a Day. Once the logs are collected, an admin email notification will be sent.
- “Send To (Email Addresses)“: provide email addresses where log notifications should be sent.
- Click “Save Config” to apply and save the settings.
Event Management Grid
To view and configure the Event Management types, please go to the Plumrocket tab in the main Magento menu, and under Admin Email Notifications, select Event Management.
Step-by-step guide:
- In the Event Management grid, you can view the following details:
- Event Type (Critical, Emergency, Error, Alert, Warning, Notice, Info, and Debug)
- Description of the event type to better understand the nature, severity, and areas affected.
- Email Alerts show whether the email notifications are enabled or disabled for the specific event type.
- Status that indicates whether the event type is enabled and logs are collected.
- Click Edit in the Action column of the corresponding event type to change its Status and Email Alerts settings.
Step-by-step guide:
- “Status“: set the event Status to Enabled or Disabled. If enabled, the extension will monitor system logs for this event type and record them in the Event Log grid.
- “Enable Email Alerts“: set it to Yes to send system log information via email notifications for this event type whenever any are detected.
- Click “Save” to apply new settings.
Event Log Grid
The Event Log grid allows you to check all information about exception.log and system.log files directly from the admin panel, eliminating the need to … the database. To find the Event Log grid, go to the Plumrocket tab in the main Magento menu, and under Admin Email Notifications, select Event Log.
Step-by-step guide:
- In the Event Log grid, you can view the list of all logs collected along with the following details:
- Event Type: The type of the logged event.
- Event ID: A unique identifier for the event.
- Created At: The date when the log was collected from the database.
- File Name: The name of the file from which the log was collected.
- Log Time: The time the event occurred.
- Log Message: A description of the logged event.
- You can use mass actions to delete multiple logs simultaneously from the grid.
- To manage individual logs, navigate to the Action column of the corresponding log entry:
- Click Select > Delete to remove the log
- Click Select > View Detail to view detailed information about the log.
To view the details of a specific log entry, go to the Action column of the corresponding log and click Select > View Detail.
