{"id":401,"date":"2020-02-28T16:07:09","date_gmt":"2020-02-28T16:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wiki2.plumserver.com\/knowledge-base\/magento-private-sales-v2-x-configuration-categories-configuration"},"modified":"2021-07-27T03:51:38","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T07:51:38","slug":"magento-private-sales-v2-x-configuration-categories-configuration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/plumrocket.com\/docs\/magento-1-private-sales\/v2\/configuration\/categories","title":{"rendered":"Magento 1 Private Sales v2.x Configuration: Categories Configuration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"categories-configuration\">Categories Configuration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this section you will find a detailed description of our <a href=\"\/magento-1-private-sales\">Magento Private Sales module<\/a> features and settings that can be reached at the admin panel following the access path Catalog->Manage Categories<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will learn how to set the time period of active boutiques, indicate their type and submit the boutiques to different categories on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, open the Manage Categories page as shown below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group pr-notice pr-notice-info\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p class=\"pr-notice-title\">Step-by-Step action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Click on the &#8220;?atalog&#8221; tab in main menu.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Select &#8220;Manage Categories&#8221;.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Catalog-MC.png\" alt=\"Catalog-MC.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The screenshot below contains a detailed description of Magento Private Sales extension features and settings which a user can set for any category or boutique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group pr-notice pr-notice-info\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p class=\"pr-notice-title\">Detailed description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Click on the &#8220;Private sales Settings&#8221; tab to access the tab settings.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Option &#8220;Category Type&#8221;:<\/strong> allows you to set the type of category.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, there are three main types of categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Boutique<\/strong> &#8211; this category will represent a boutique containing products<\/li><li><strong>Home page<\/strong> &#8211; this category will be displayed as a separate Home Page containing several boutiques. As a rule, website administrators use this category in order to group several boutiques on some basis. For instance, &#8220;Goods for Men&#8221; or &#8220;Gifts&#8221;<\/li><li><strong>Group of boutiques<\/strong> &#8211; it is a general category that will contain a list of boutiques. As a rule, website administrators use this category in order to group several boutiques according to the sales periods.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For Example: Let&#8217;s say you have 10 boutiques. 5 of them include &#8220;Goods for Men&#8221; and 5 boutiques offer &#8220;Goods for Women&#8221;; and you want to launch boutiques FOR MEN fist (the first week), and boutiques FOR WOMEN &#8211; a week later. In this case you will have to create: two Home Pages &#8211; &#8220;MEN&#8221; and &#8220;WOMEN&#8221;, two Group of boutiques &#8211; &#8220;First Week&#8221; and &#8220;Second Week&#8221;. Each Group of boutiques should contain 5 boutiques belonging to a particular Home Page<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\"><li><strong>Option &#8220;Start of Sales&#8221;:<\/strong> Set the date for the category to be displayed on the website. This option is not accessible for the &#8220;Home Page&#8221; type<\/li><li><strong>Option &#8220;End of Sales&#8221;:<\/strong> Set the date for the category to expire and disappear from the website. This option is not accessible for the &#8220;Home Page&#8221; type<\/li><li><strong>Option &#8220;Storefront&#8221;:<\/strong> If selected &#8211; sales never expire on this homepage <\/li><li><strong>Option &#8220;Single Product Boutique&#8221;<\/strong> If the product is selected, the boutique will be pointed to the product page instead of the product list<\/li><li><strong>Option &#8220;Boutique Home Pages&#8221;<\/strong> is accessible only for the &#8220;Boutique&#8221; type. Select the Home Page the new boutique belongs to. The same boutique can be displayed on one or more Home Pages at the same time<\/li><li><strong>Button &#8220;Boutique Preview&#8221;<\/strong> Press here to preview the boutique in the frontend. (The screenshot below represents the boutique preview mode)<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Catalog-MC-PS.png\" alt=\"Catalog-MC-PS.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the preview mode of the boutique and products in the frontend. There is a red bar on top informing of the preview mode, and the calendar to choose the date you want.
