Configuring Custom Placement Banner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this article you will learn how to create Custom Placement Banner in your Magento Banner Pro Extension<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you proceed with creating Custom Placement Banner, please, make sure you have already created a campaign<\/a> and a banner group<\/a> for this banner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Creating Placeholder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to create a custom placement banner, you need to create a specific type of a placeholder for you banner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detailed description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In your Magento admin panel go to “Plumrocket” tab.<\/strong><\/li>
  2. Select “Manage Placeholders” section. In this tab press on the “Add New Placeholders” button.<\/strong><\/li>
  3. “Name”:<\/strong> specify the name of a placeholder.<\/li>
  4. “Status”:<\/strong> option allows to enable or disable a placeholder.<\/li>
  5. “Location”:<\/strong> option allows you to set the location of a placeholder. As an example we have set “Custom (for Developers)”<\/strong> location for the custom placement banner.<\/li>
  6. “Type”:<\/strong> select “Static Banner”<\/strong> type for this banner.<\/li>
  7. “Banner sort order:”<\/strong> specify the sort order banners will be displayed in this placeholder: “By Priority<\/strong> or “Random”<\/strong> .<\/li>
  8. Save your placeholder by pressing on the “Save Placeholder”‘<\/strong> button.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Creating Banner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. Once you have saved the placeholder, you can create a banner within this tab. Go to “Banners” tab.<\/strong><\/li>
    2. Press on the “Add New Banner” button.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Detailed description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. “Name”:<\/strong> specify the name of a banner in this field.<\/li>
      2. “Status”:<\/strong> option allows you to enable or disable the banner.<\/li>
      3. “Banner Group”:<\/strong> field shows you the banner group this banner is assigned to.<\/li>
      4. “Placeholder”:<\/strong> in this field you need to select the newly created placeholder. In our case it is a n “External Websites”<\/strong> placeholder which we have previously created.<\/li>
      5. In the “Show Only On Product Pages”<\/strong> field you may choose whether the banner will be displayed on the product pages only.<\/li>
      6. Input the number in the “Priority”<\/strong> field. Note:<\/strong> The smaller the number – the higher is the priority. Banners with the highest priority will be displayed in banner sliders and static banners first.<\/li>
      7. “Destination URL”:<\/strong> enter the url where the visitor will be redirected to after clicking on the banner.<\/li>
      8. Select Image<\/strong> or HTML<\/strong> banner type in the “Banner Type”<\/strong> field.<\/li>
      9. After you selected “Image”<\/strong> banner type, upload an image file of your banner.<\/li>
      10. For SEO purposes you may specify the alt tag andlink title in the “Image Title”<\/strong> field.<\/li>
      11. “Target”:<\/strong> field allows you to select in which way the destination URL will be opened (e.g. in a new window or tab).<\/li>
      12. “Display Restrictions”<\/strong> field allows to set restrictions for a banner by pages. Specify rules to select the pages to display the banner on.<\/li>
      13. Press “Save Banner”<\/strong> to save your settings.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

        Getting Code<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        After you have created a banner, you need to go back to “Manage Placeholders” section -> select “External Website” placeholder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. In this tab, select “Get Code” section.<\/strong><\/li>
        2. Select “Display Banners on Your Magento Store”<\/strong> tab.<\/li>
        3. Copy the block code to add a placeholder on any CMS Page, Product or Category Page description, etc.<\/li>
        4. Press “Save Placeholder”<\/strong> to save your changes.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
